    Here are the clear steps you need to follow to create your gated store. Please also find our in-depth technical documentation <u>here (gated store link)</u>

    1. Create an offer page:
       * Design a dedicated page on your website or app that displays the discounted products and pricing you want verified users to access.
    2. Block access (Gating):
       * Crucially, block direct access to this new offer page. This is the "gating" mechanism. You will need to implement a check on this page that looks for the valid JWT appended by Student Beans before displaying the content.
    3. Provide the URL to Pion:
       * Once the page is ready and secured, provide the exact URL of your new gated page to your Pion contact.
    4. Pion configuration:
       * Pion will then use the URL you provided to set up and configure the gated offers within their system and the Student Beans environment.

    When it comes to our verification technology, Beans iD for Web is hosted via an embed on your site.

    The embed acts as a window into our domain and therefore we are in control of and responsible for the cookies that are being dropped. To ensure we are compliant with relevant data protection obligations, we include a cookie consent and preference banner on the iframe. Users can select their cookie preferences by following the link from Cookie Settings which takes them to their Privacy Preference Centre and provides further information about the types of cookies we use. This enables users to reject any cookies which are not  necessary for the services we provide - e.g. giving them access to a student discount.

    As the domain for the embed is the same domain as the Student Beans website, if a user has previously visited the Student Beans website and then visits the embed on your site, their preferences will automatically be applied.

    A user will only be shown the pop-up banner the first time they access the embed on your site to ensure it has minimal impact on the user experience.
